It's crazy to think that we're in July already! Thanksgiving seems like yesterday when we were gathered around the table with close family, and great food. I've been thinking alot about the different chapters in life. Although there are only a few big ones, there are so many little ones in between! I remember how exciting it was to start life after marriage! There were so many goals that we set out with - to get our first place together, to have kids, career goals, being missionaries some day......the list goes on. It's weird to be able to look back on several of those goals and see them reached - or almost reached.
When we moved to Indiana from Virginia, it was certianly a new chapter of life, or a new style of life anyways, for me! I have become very closely aquainted with long nights, early mornings, books, and studying over the past 2 years! I can't say I'm too disappointed to have to say good-bye to this chapter of life. I would much rather be spending long nights with a baby, who loves in return, than with books, which are relatively emotionless. Apart from school, there have been many other special things in this small chapter of life! We have had the privilage to be part of a very great and loving small church. We've built friendships there that we will treasure for a lifetime! We have had the blessing of being close to Mikel's parents and spending some great time with them. Last summer my mom came home with Leah. Mikel and I got to spend several months 'hosting' her which was very special!
This chapter is coming to an end very soon! Today I had my last official nursing lecture of the entire program (that is, assuming I will pass the NCLEX). I only have one exam and two assignments left! Exciting, weird, and scary all at the same time!
We will be leaving August 1st officially for Spokane. It's always an adventure to start somewhere new - where you know no one and know nothing about the area. I have applied for several positions, but have not recieved any 'positive' responses yet. We have not found out much more in regards to housing/living situation. We are continuing to trust that the Lord in that. He has a plan and we are happy to rest in that knowledge! We are getting very excited to begin this new phase of life. Mikel has been so patient and supportive of getting me through schooling! I am looking forward to doing the same for him! Plus - we will be a step closer to overseas missions after this, and THAT is exciting!
